Preparations for this year’s Science Fair have begun! The projects will be displayed February ?? for the judges and presentations and on February ?? awards will be given.
The Preschool through 8-year-old classes will create a class Science Fair Project. The 9 year old and older students will create individual Science Fair Projects. Students will be discussing science fair topics with their teachers, who will approve their topics and help them understand how to present their topics well.
Student should use the Scientific Method in creating their projects and projects should be experiments, not demonstrations.
· A testable question should be clearly presented.
· A hypothesis should be stated.
· An experiment should be undertaken and quantifiable data collect. A clear variable or set of variables should
be tested and, where appropriate, a control group should be tested for comparison.
· Analysis of the data should be logical and complete.
· Conclusions should be well thought out.
· The student should record their information for the steps of the scientific method in a notebook.
· The project display board should be attractive and it should communicate the information well.
· The student should be able to explain the project and answer questions from the judges and other students.
Not sure of what to do? Click below for Science Fair Project ideas. Just remember to look for experiments, and not demonstrations. Ask yourself, can your result be measured by numbers (weight, time, distance, etc...)
